Sunan Ibn-e-Majah : 3372
‘Ubadah bin Samit said:
حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُنِيرُ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عُبَادَةَ بْنَ نُسَيٍّ، يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ خَبَّابَ بْنَ الْأَرَتِّ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ، قَالَ: إِيَّاكَ وَالْخَمْرَ، فَإِنَّ خَطِيئَتَهَا تَفْرَعُ الْخَطَايَا، كَمَا أَنَّ شَجَرَتَهَا تَفْرَعُ الشَّجَرَ .
“I heard Khabbab bin Arat رضی اللہ عنہ narrating that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘Beware of wine! For its sins overwhelm other sins, just as the grapevine overwhelms other trees.’”
