Qatadah reported this story from Saeed bin al-Musayyab. This version adds:
حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ بِهَذِهِ الْقِصَّةِ، قَالَ: فَدُعِيَ الْيَوْمَ الثَّالِثَ فَلَمْ يُجِبْ، وَحَصَبَ الرَّسُولَ.
When he was invited on the third day, he did not accept and threw pebbles at the one who brought the invitation
