Every one of you is gathered together in the womb of his mother for forty days, then he becomes a clot of blood for the same period, then a piece of flesh for the same period. Then an angel is sent to him and he breathes the soul into him. So the angel is commanded to write four things: his provision, his life span, his deeds, and whether he will be blessed or wretched.
